The new Magma series by Bergans of Norway consists of multi-functional and thermal insulating jackets designed for hiking and everyday use. These lightweight and comfortable jackets, filled with recycled down, have excellent insulating properties, as well as a wind and water resistant outer material, so as to guarantee protection during the cold winter months. The difference between Magma and the Lava series, is that Magma feature an even higher performance goose down that has a fill power of 700+ cuin. According to the EN12130 standard for down filling power in cubic inches, a power of 650 + is classified as the highest quality down and is used for filling in expedition travel equipment.

Magma Light Down is a light and compact down women jacket, perfect for hiking, mountaineering and everyday use in cold weather. 100% recycled goose down (RE:DOWN) with a weight of 60 g/m2 was used for filling (insulation). The fill ratio is 90/10, which means 90% down and 10% feathers, with a fill power of 700 cuin. Magma Light Down features a special panel construction with quilted parts with higher insulation on the shoulders and sleeves, a fixed hood and high collar that provide great head and neck protection as you fight your way through the cold winds. The windproof outer layer of the Magma Light Down is made from recycled polyamide and has a water-repellent coating.

This model Bergans down jacket can be worn as a second (intermediate) layer under a hardshell jacket or as a final (outer) layer. The Magma is an extremely light and compressible jacket, with one of the pockets also serving as a compression bag. Elastic cuffs on the sleeves, a two-way zip and side pockets that do not interfere with use with a backpack hip belt complete the functionality of this Bergans jacket model. For your more personal valuables, you can use a zip pocket on the chest.
