Bergans Røros Insulated 3/4 Pnt Black 2024

Designed for the coldest winter days in the mountains, the Røros Insulated ¾ insulated pant from the Norwegian brand Bergans of Norway is your salvation for the most challenging adventures in sub-zero temperatures.

When your core (torso) gets cold, blood is pulled away from the extremities because the internal organs and their heating are prioritized in extreme situations, resulting in feeling cold, icy feet and hands. Therefore, in sub-zero temperatures, especially if you are not moving, it is enough to keep your torso warm to ensure much greater comfort - the blood moves freely to the extremities and keeps them warm. For this reason, Bergans designed lightweight pants with a high waist and effective insulation that focus on these areas and are easily worn over hiking pants. Røros Insulated ¾ (whose predecessor – Mjølkedalstind ¾ pants was a bestseller in the CampingRocks store) has a comfortable unisex cut and is very light (only 285 g for size L). It can be worn both over trekking pants and under ski pants or overalls.

The model uses ultra-light synthetic insulation of the highest class: PrimaLoft® Silver Eco with a weight of 60 g/sq.m. PrimaLoft insulation is made by weaving together hydrophobic polyester microfibers that are laid in flat layers. A synthetic agent is then added to the mixture, which, when heated in production, "welds" these layers into a combined mass that leaves air pockets. Air is a very poor conductor of heat, making it a perfect insulator – it prevents your heat from leaving your body. When wet, the pockets do not "clump" like down products do, because their hydrophobic nature repels water droplets and prevents them from absorbing moisture. Silver Eco is the second highest level of PrimaLoft insulation after Primaloft Gold and is therefore often used in clothing that is used on the move such as hiking gear.

The outer material uses a Pertex® Quantum water-repellent layer that does not contain harmful substances (PFAS free) - it guarantees the resistance of the fabric to snow, dew and light drizzle, but does not guarantee water resistance.

The Røros Insulated ¾ is easy to put on thanks to the two-way zips from the waist down, which are also good for ventilation if you get warm. The model has two pockets with a zipper in the front - one of them is a compression bag in which you can store the entire pant.
