Merino wool is known for its unique properties of simultaneously retaining heat while efficiently wicking moisture away and providing an optimal microclimate next to the skin. It has natural antibacterial properties and does not retain unpleasant odors. In the CampingRocks store you can enjoy two major Norwegian brands with a long history in the design and manufacture of quality merino products. Devold of Norway's merino wool jackets are made from 100% merino wool with a knit that's thick enough to keep warm, but also extra fine so it doesn't "prick" and irritate the skin. The models of Bergans of Norway are a mix of 50% merino wool and 50% of another natural material called Lyocell (so-called Tencel fibers), which is made of cellulose fibers and gives great strength to the fabric.
