The Expedition series products have been tried and tested on a number of polar expeditions and are an excellent choice for a first base thermal layer (directly on the body) when skiing or mountaineering in cold winter conditions.
Expedition Merino 235 Headover is a headband scarf, part of Devold's Expedition series. Like all products in this series, it has a double layer construction. The inner layer is made of 100% merino wool, whose unique properties are well known: this natural material adapts to your activity and performs thermoregulation, keeping you warm in cold weather and cooling when you get hot. Merino wool does not retain unpleasant odors thanks to its natural antibacterial properties and does not require frequent washing. The outer layer of the Devold Expedition Merino 235 Headover is made from 90% Aquaduct merino wool and 10% polyamide to improve the fabric's resistance to wear and tear and mechanical damage. Aquaduct merino wool is specially designed to wick moisture away from the interior, allowing it to evaporate to the outside. This type of treatment makes Aquaduct wool products faster drying and extremely breathable.
The merino wool in the Expedition Merino 235 Headover weighs 235 g/m2, which ranks the scarf among the brand's extra-warm products designed for winter adventures in temperatures below and around zero. It does not sting or scratch your skin thanks to the super fine fibers with a thickness of only 18.7 microns - a size smaller than the threshold at which touch receptors in the skin are activated. The outer layer, which does not touch your face, uses 20.5 micron fibers, improving the thermal performance of the fabric.
