Trekking tent Sea to Summit Alto TR1 PLUS Green 2024

The Alto TR1 Plus is a one-person tent designed for outdoor enthusiasts who prioritize ultralightweight gear and adventures, by the Australian brand Sea to Summit. Perfect for cycling trips and trekking, it combines compactness, a weight of just 1228 grams, and spacious interior. 

The Alto has won the 2022 Outdoor Award for ultralightweight hiking tents and meets all requirements for durability, comfort, and intelligent design.

In this model, the manufacturers focus on maximum functionality – no detail is unnecessary, and each element is designed to fulfill more than one function. An advantage of the Alto TR1 is its ability to be conveniently shared between two people. For this purpose, the tent arrives in 2 compression sacks that can be connected or divided between two individuals. When assembled, the two sacks turn into storage pockets for personal belongings. Additionally, the bag for transporting the poles has dual use – it attaches to the ceiling above the light fixture, providing a soft and even shade to the light.

The Alto provides a perfect balance between lightweight and comfortable design with all necessary extras and spacious interior. Its semi-freestanding construction consists of interconnected DAC Japanese aluminum poles, which are ultralight, exceptionally durable, and manufactured using minimal chemicals and water compared to similar structures. Architecturally refined with the assistance of Jake Lah (the creator of DAC), the Alto TR1 Plus includes the patented Tension Ridge system, which provides additional internal volume and height in the sleeping area, higher doors, and even more efficient air circulation compared to similar models from other manufacturers.

Although a three-season tent, the Alto TR1 Plus utilizes high-quality materials that guarantee weather protection – YKK zippers, aluminum poles, and a laminated polyurethane fly with taped seams. The poles of the Alto are high-grade ultralight DAC NSL anodized aluminum poles designed for quick and easy assembly, intended to be stable and durable in windy conditions. The tent includes a separate nylon sleeping area instead of mesh to prevent cold air from entering the interior. The materials provide water resistance with a floor offering a hydrostatic head of 2500 mm and the flysheet - 1200 mm. At the same time, the Alto TR1 Plus has ventilation openings through which you can control ventilation and humidity to prevent condensation.

Exceptionally multifunctional, the Alto TR1 Plus can be used in several different ways depending on your preferences: as a classic tent or simply as a mesh shelter by rolling up the fly and fully exposing the sleeping area. Designers from Sea to Summit have also provided the option to set up the tent as a tarp by using only the flysheet and using trekking poles (not included in the kit) to raise it from one side, turning it into a shelter for protection from weather conditions.
