The LifeStraw filters up to 4000 liters of water, and removes a minimum of 99.9999% of waterborne bacteria and 99.9% of parasites. What makes the LifeStraw so effective is the hollow-fiber microfiltration membran, which consists of a large number of strings looking very much like spaghetti.
