Robens Klondike PRS Tipi Tent

Part of the Navigator collection of the German tourist equipment brand Robens, the Klondike PRS tent more than successfully combines the advantages of tents for hiking and camping and wild camping, resulting in a high (270 cm) and spacious (diameter 390 cm) types of tent with a capacity to accommodate up to six people. The dimensions of the Klondike PRS when folded are as compact as possible (73 x 29 cm) and despite the space it offers, the tent weighs only 11.2 kg, which is an exceptional achievement of the Robens designers.

The construction of the Klondike PRS consists of two main aluminum rails with sections of different diameters, calculated in such a way as not to add extra volume and weight to the tent, but to be sufficient support for the domed structure in case it has to withstand wind storms with speed of up to 190 km/h.  The main (central) rail is placed in the center of the inner space and reaches the top of the tent, and the other (A-shaped) is mounted at the entrance, stretching it and separating it from the inside. The entrance is opened by a vertical zipper for maximum access, even when you have a large backpack or the weather outside is bad. 

The Klondike PRS cover is made of refractory HydroTex HD Ripstop polyester, which is highly resistant to mechanical impact and moisture (5000 mm water column). If the fabric is ignited by a cigarette or a campfire, it does not burn, but melts slowly and gives time for safe evacuation.

For optimal ventilation in the tent, the creators of Klondike PRS have provided mesh windows with covers on both wings at the entrance, side mesh windows with covers at the base of the walls, and a fully mesh panel with a hood at the top, which you can control with specially added for this purpose tensioners and thus choose the desired degree of ventilation in the tent. The effect that occurs is the entry of cooler air from the base of the tent, which pushes the warm out through the top and thus neutralizes to a minimum the possibility of condensation.

And since this is a true tipi tent, designed for use even in colder weather, the creators of the Klondike PRS have provided the possibility to install a tent stove inside. At the top is added a special sleeve for the exit of the chimney, which can be tightened according to the diameter of the chimney or completely closed if you do not use a stove in the tent.

The floor in Klondike PRS is made of polyester (Oxford polyester) with 210T intertwined vertically and horizontally 210 threads (threads in one square inch - 2.54 cm x 2.54 cm fabric), which determines its exceptional density and guarantees its long-term use in proper management. Part of the floor is not sewn to the main fabric, but is connected to it by double waterproof zippers, so you can unbutton and roll it when you need to separate a shoe area or put a stove. It took no more than 10-15 minutes to stretch the KlondikePRS, and the creators of the tent have provided a bag for transport and storage.

Equipped with all systems and extras for endurance in wind and rain, the Robens Klondike PRS tent is the embodiment of the exotic and romantic way of camping, which in recent years is better known as "glamping".
