Y LightLine Essence is a technical and versatile mid-layer, part of the limited high-tech Y LightLine collection of the Norwegian brand Bergans of Norway. Designed to keep you warm without steaming during speed hikes, running, climbing and other high-intensity activities, this model is made from quick-drying and breathable fabrics and features a sporty fit and functional design.
The high-tech Pontetorto Tecnostretch® fabric has an impressive ratio between weight and thermal insulation properties, and thanks to its lightweight design, it can be easily combined with other layers such as a hardshell jacket or a down jacket. The interior uses extremely fine channels that both retain air (and prevent heat transfer) and allow for efficient moisture removal. The material of Y LightLine Essence compresses to a small volume and does not take up extra space in luggage.
Some of the details on this Bergans model include thumbholes, a handy zip pocket on the chest and flatlock seams that prevent chafing when wearing Essence as a first layer.
