The outsole features light treading designed to increase surface contact for better grip, while also allowing water to drain beneath the foot. It is made from high-grade rubber material (30% of which is the so-called Spider Rubber) with specially integrated channels. Spider Rubber is a high-traction, durable rubber that stands out for its excellent temperature tolerance – it retains its properties even in temperatures as low as -32°C. The midsole provides optimal shock absorption for sandals and is made from EVA foam (30% recycled EVA), making the Teva Hydratrek very comfortable for hiking.

The outer construction is denser and securely holds the foot in place, preventing it from shifting inside the sandal—a feature that helps reduce the risk of ankle sprains when crossing a fast-moving river during a hike or fishing trip. The straps include extra padding to minimize the risk of foot chafing. Their fastening system is user-friendly and allows for quick and easy adjustment to the foot. The mesh upper, made from 100% recycled REPREVE polyester, provides breathability and quick drying. The fabric is produced by REPREVE from Unifi—one of the most renowned manufacturers of sustainable textiles, whose materials are used by leading global brands such as Nike, Asics, The North Face, and others.
